Stuffed Taufu Pok with pork & chives




 




Ingredient

  • 15-20 taufu pok
  • 350g minced pork
  • 100gm chives, chopped
  • 2 shallots, chopped
  • 1 chopped coriander leaves - optional
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp corn flour
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp light soy sauce
  • Pinch of pepper

Method

  1. Combine minced pork, chives, shallots, coriander leaves, salt, sugar, cornflour, sesame oil and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Make a small hole in taufu pok and stuff in filling. 
  3. Heat some oil in wok. Add in stuffed taufu pok and fry until golden brown. 
  4. Heat wok with a bit oil, Add some ikan bilis (dry anchovies) till golden. Add water (3-4 cups and bring to boil. Add in taufu pok and cook for 10mins at low heat until the sauce reduced slightly. Add bit of salt & Ajinomoto to your taste. Served hot with rice.

BEANCURD BALL

I am submitting my post to Aspiring Bakers #19: Dim Sum Affair (May 2012) hosted by SSB of Small Small Baker

Ingredients
1 box bean curd (2 pieces white beancurd)
100g shrimp
2 Chinese mushroom
1 spring onion
3-4 slice of breads (Cut the bread to the dice shape)

Seasonings
Some pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 egg

METHOD
1. Finely chop the mushroom, shrimp and spring onion. Mix well with beancurd & seasoning.

2.Slowly shape beancurd paste into a ball form and coat with bread cube 3. Deep fry into hot oil till golden brown.

Deep Fried Beancurd with Butter Sauce


3 Pieces of fried bencurd (Tau Foo)


Butter Sauce Ingredients

Few curry leaves
1 pinch of salt
50g butter
50ml condensed milk
1 chilli padi
1 tbs water + 1 tsp corn flour (corn starch)

1. Cut beancurd into few slices & fry untill golden brown. Set aside.

2. Prepare the sauce. Melt the butter on medium fire.Add in curry leaves and fry it until fragrant.

3. Add condensed milk, chilli and a pinch of salt. Slowly add the beancurd slices and bit of corn starch to thicken the sauce & serve hot.

Deep Fried Beancurd with Hot & Sour Saurce

Recipe adapted from Table for 2

2 Pieces of fried bencurd (Tau Foo)

Hot & Sour Sauce Ingredients
1 lime juice
1 pinch of salt
2 tbs sugar
1 finely chopped shallots
1 glove finely chopped garlic
1 chilli padi

Ganishing
Finely chopped some coriander

1. Cut beancurd into few slices & deep fry untill golden brown. Set aside.
2. Prepare the sauce. Mixed all ingredients.
3. Toss bencurd slices with hot & sour sauce. Serve and garnish with some coriander.

Deep Fried Beancurd Delight




Recipe:

300g minced Chicken or prawn (finely chop)
1 packet beancurd (300gm)or 2-3 pieces white beancurd
60g Nestum
1 egg
1 tbsp Light soy sauce
1 tbsp Corn flour
1/2 tsp Pepper
oil for deep fry

Method:

1.Marinade meat(minced chicken or prawn) with light soy sauce, egg, corn flour and pepper.

2. Mash the beancurd and mix well with the meat and Nestum. Divide into small pieces.

3.Heat up wok with oil and fry the mixture paste (scoop into pieces) until golden brown, lift up and put aside.
