Steam Crabs & Fried Mee Hoon

Dinning out in restaurant is like going into a casino. First you select your restaurant. Quiet similar to placing your bets on the table,' Banker' or 'Player'.Then you select your dishes, 'Big' or 'Small' and finally the outcome, delicious or lousy food.....Winner or loser! Well, I would like to relate a night out to you.A couple of months back, my family and I decided to eat out. We selected a restaurant situated someway along the Old Penampang Road.We ordered a few dishes which include a crab dish, called Milk Butter Crab. That particular dish came out to be a Big.. Big.. loser dish. There's hardly any crab meat between the shells, no butter taste at all and worst of all, they put a lot evaporated milk and sugar. I guessed the chef was out puffing his fags, and the dishwasher took control of the wok. Maybe? Who knows! To compensate for that lousy experience, I decided to get the best 'grade A' crabs and cooked them for the children. To cut down all those fatties - oil, milk and butter, I just put them into the steamer. Walla.. a succulent dish in just 15 - 20 min's.
Btw. just add ginger juice + Chinese cooking wine and salt to taste.

Cheese Crabmeat in Shell

The Christmas mood has subsided. The New Year's cheers are long gone, only the Christmas tree is still standing in the living room. So back to the rat race again!! The children are attending the new term at school, and mother rat is going back to the office. Looking back and asking myself " What have I achieved for the past twelve months?" Well..ll.....I guess not much really, except gaining a few ehh.....( only a few )...extra pounds in the tummy. Eating and Eating was the name of the game. So much red meat was consumed for the past two weeks. For a change , I decided to cook this dish which was featured in a friend's blog recently.

Crabby Day

Today.. my hubby and me went to the market to look for fresh crab for my three angels to make for dinner.

my first time cook crab with vermicelli. It seems that my whole family enjoyed it very much. it tasted fantabulous. commented by yannie. Though it looks quite messy in the picture but at least it's delicious right? :)

since we bought 4kg of crab and it's quite alot, we decided to make two different dishes, which is crab vermicelli and crab porridge. i got this idea from my sister when she told me it was delicious. So yummy it's a must to try. Very simple.

First, you boil the porridge until it is cooked and then, add fresh crab in it. Put alittle bit of salt, and fresh ginger after the dish is done. Thats simple. :) okay.
